Sophie Raseman serves as the Director of Smart Disclosure in the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Consumer Policy. She helps to lead the Treasury’s efforts to expand smart disclosure in consumer financial services. Smart disclosure is a policy approach that involves expanding access to federal data, so that many private sector innovators can use that data to build tools that help consumers make informed decisions in the marketplace. Treasury recently helped launch Consumer.Data.gov, the centralized platform for federal smart disclosure data, and the Finance Data Directory (Treasury.gov/financedata), a one stop shop for valuable data sets that can be used to build tools to help consumers make financial decisions. Ms. Raseman has also served as co-chair to the White House’s Task Force on Smart Disclosure, established to help promote the use of smart disclosure across the federal government.
