Scott Foundas is chief film critic for Variety, the “showbiz bible” founded in 1905 and still going strong. Foundas was previously chief film critic for The Village Voice and L.A. Weekly, and associate program director for the Film Society of Lincoln Center, where he served as a member of the New York Film Festival selection committee. In addition, his writing has appeared in The New York Times, Film Comment and Indiewire, and he has been a special consultant to the Cannes Film Festival. In 2010, he was named Critic of the Year at the Los Angeles Press Club’s National Entertainment Journalism Awards. In 2013, a collection of his reviews, interviews and essays entitled “Time Stopped” was published by the Mar Del Plata film festival in Argentina.
