• Reuben Steiger


    Reuben Steiger is CEO of PATTERN5, an investment and advisory firm focused on virtual reality and augmented reality. As an entrepreneur, he has spent the past 20 years building products, teams, and companies primarily in VR and AR. He has designed and launched global-scale systems through over 100 projects which connect the real and virtual worlds to improve the way we teach, work, and live. He has sold two companies and served clients including Nike, SONY Playstation, and Stanford University.

    Steiger’s work in VR and AR began in 2000, when he designed a web-based model of the known physical universe with the Sagan Foundation. This was followed by Steiger heading up the interactive design of the world’s largest casino, Wynn Las Vegas (2003). From 2004-2005, Steiger served as Chief Evangelist for Linden Lab, contributing to the early design of the pioneering virtual world of Second Life and founding virtual world design studio Millions of Us (2006-2010). After receiving an investment from advertising conglomerate Omnicom, Steiger co-founded Virtual Greats, establishing the legal framework for licensing IP associated with iconic real world personalities for sales in virtual environments. Virtual Greats was sold in 2013 to German media company Iconic Futures GMBH.

    From 2011-2015, Steiger led the advanced research division of of Interpublic Group, served as Principal for global product design firm Method, and built an education company teaching creative entrepreneurship to children.
