Norman Solomon is the executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy and the author of a dozen books on media and public policy, including War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death. He coauthored (with foreign correspondent Reese Erlich) Target Iraq: What the News Media Didn’t Tell You, a book that was published two months before the March 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Solomon wrote the syndicated weekly “Media Beat” column for 17 years. He is a longtime associate of the media watchdog group FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting). Solomon is a recipient of the George Orwell Award for Distinguished Contribution to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language as well as the Ruben Salazar Journalism Award.
