• Mijo Vodopic

    Program Officer at MacArthur Foundation

As a program officer at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Mijo’s portfolio includes preserving affordable rental housing, enhancing the field of nonprofit entrepreneurs, and the intersection between cities and climate. His work emphasizes empirically-based policy development for all levels of government and public-private partnerships as critical elements to addressing pressing problems – like the lack of affordable, quality housing and the inefficient use of energy across the built environment. He came to the Foundation from the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where he led evaluations on the Basel II Accord’s impact on global and domestic banking competition and the effects of eminent domain actions on property owners and communities. Earlier, he advocated on behalf of homeless families during welfare reform.
