Mary Jane Skalski is an independent film producer based in New York City. In 2003, she was cited as one of Variety’s “10 Producers to Watch” and in 2004 she received the Spirit Award for Producing. Her projects have consistently garnered critical acclaim and commercial success. Skalski has produced Tom McCarthy’s films The Station Agent, The Visitor, Win Win and The Cobbler. She has also produced Todd Louiso’s Hello I Must Be Going, Naomi Foner’s Very Good Girls, Jane Weinstock’s The Moment, Gregg Araki’s Mysterious Skin, DARE (director Adam Salky), Against the Current (director Peter Callahan) and The Hawk is Dying (director Julien Goldberg). Skalski was an executive producer of Pariah and Putzel, and co-producer of the documentary Wonderland.
Skalski began her career working on the early films of Ang Lee, Nicole Holofcener, and Ed Burns. Since 1997, she has served as an adjunct in the Graduate Film Program at Columbia University and regularly participates as an advisor at the Sundance Institute Lab for Creative Producing.
