The cornucopia of new digital learning tools based on the Internet has never been better, and pioneers in this space are enjoying unprecedented learning experiences. However, the learning experiences of the vast majority of people within most educational institutions remain largely unchanged by new digital technology. Howard Rheingold drove a terrific roundtable in which our innovators focused on re-imagining learning, building on his ideas about incorporating cutting edge learning tools and processes into the institutions of tomorrow. The bulk of the conversation centered around how to move more of the best practices of this new peer-to-peer learning into mainstream educational institutions, and how we might accelerate a broader systemic change in the next five to ten years.
