Reinvent Governance to Best Utilize America’s Human Capital

Series: Reinvent America: Inaugural Series

How do we reinvent governance to take full advantage of new technology?
Taking stock of America in the early 21st century and thinking about how to create the best governing system possible starts with utilizing modern digital technologies. We now have previously unforeseen ways to identify and connect all the information, knowledge and human capital in the country. We have virtual video platforms that allow people to interact whenever and wherever they are. This explosion of possibilities certainly would have been mind-boggling to the Founding Fathers. How might governance, or collective problem-solving, work in this new context? How can we maximize the intelligence of this group of over 300 million Americans, and best use individual talents and skill sets to solve societal problems?
