Bill McKibben’s Takeaways from the Paris Climate Talks

“Paris didn’t save the planet,” said Founder Bill McKibben in our recent climate change roundtable, “but it may perhaps have saved the chance of saving the planet.” The accord signed at the Paris climate conference might have been better suited for 1995 than 2015 – as things stand now, we’ve got a lot of scrambling to do in order to keep the average global temperature to no more than a two degree Celsius increase. McKibben shared his takeaways from this historic conference and analyzed the recent successes of the climate movement, as well as the obstacles that stand in the way of the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.
